This was found to be especially beneficial to individuals who had experienced a debilitating injury or sickness. These illnesses or injuries cause inactivity which further bring about muscle deterioration. Therapeutic therapy was also found to be beneficial to HIV-exposed, premature infants as it enabled them to experience healthy weight gain.
