Benefits of Breast Massage

Breast massage is a gentle form of massage therapy conducted on the breasts to treat various conditions that may affect its physical form, the self confidence of the patient, or on some cases will lead to death. Although there is no specific massage therapy conducted on the breasts, light massage as well as lymphatic massage are performed to stimulate and improve the proper flow of lymph and to release any clogged substance within the tissues surrounding the breasts of the patient.

Through the years, breast related conditions have been one of the major problems and cause of death among the women around the world. Breast cancer is perhaps one of the most popular conditions related to the bust. It is a condition where cancer manifests in the tissues of the breasts which can cause a lot of pain. Men can also suffer from this deadly condition, although women are mostly the victims due to the high percentage of acquiring it. Recent studies have shown that 1 out of 8 women suffer from this condition. However, there are methods that can prevent and detect breast cancer and other ailments related to the chest of a woman.

Lymphatic massage is commonly used during a breast massage therapy session in order to enhance the flow of lymph fluid to avoid the abnormal retention of liquid in the body. The technique is conducted on the breast area in a gentle manner to avoid over stimulation of the body due to the sensitivity of that area. This type of massage is effective against several types of breast conditions which include edema, lymphedema, and milk stasis. The therapy helps in improving the natural lymphatic drainage which flushes out toxins and harmful wastes outside the body. It also helps improve the circulation of blood and oxygen in that area.

Breast massage helps in the quick recovery of lactation related problems such as sore nipples, engorgement, mastoptosis and breast pain. The light massage helps in relieving all sorts of pain in that area without creating soreness, bruises, or inflammation in return. Chronic non-malignant lumps are also treated with breast massage therapy along with common problems such as stretch marks and scarring. Keep in mind though that this type of therapy is not to be used as a sole treatment for breast conditions but it is a good support treatment with the other main therapies.

The massage therapy also helps in preventing the collapse of the Cooper's ligament which is responsible in maintaining supple and healthy looking breasts. It can be used as a firming therapy for the breasts for those who want to have a younger looking figure of the breast without undergoing surgery, drugs, needles or any medical equipment.

Although breast massage therapy is quite safe to use on these medical conditions due to the light pressure used on the massage, it is still better to talk to your doctor prior to testing the therapy. Your physician can also give you information, advice and opinion regarding this type of therapy and the technique it uses.
